Eve became bored with what she knew,
She persuaded Adam that he should be bored too,
At that point God put them both outside the garden.
Then they both knew what drudgery and boredom was,
And the answer to which
They didn’t have a clue.

The cure for the common cold
Will mankind ever see?
The Jew, Arab and Jerusalem,
It is the same for thee.
For when plan A,B or C evaporates
With every rising sun,
Into that void, where reason’s weak
And historic divinity sits proud,
Comes another, his reputation to protect,
Attempts to steer the rudderless ship,
The prophet’s word is clear.
But alas, it’s all too late
For the dead, who wait their awaited fate
Reflecting on what, for them, has passed,
Their hell is to remember their unbelief,
And for the Messiah, who came and will return,
Their intractable hate.

There were two bishops sitting in deckchairs on the beach. One bishop was a traditional creationist, believing in the literal six days creation as the Bible describes it (I often wonder why God took six days when He could have done it in the twinkling of an eye. Still, that’s a post for another time. On with the story). The other bishop, who was an evolutionist, believed that the earth as we know it took millions of years to form. The creationist bishop, (there’s not many of them to the pound these days, I can tell you,) said to his colleague, ‘How long do you think God is going to take when He makes the new heaven an new earth where righteousness will dwell?’ quoting 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 13 in the New Testament of the Bible.
‘Oh, more or less instantaneously, of course.’
‘O, why do you say that? because, according to you, it didn’t happen like that at the beginning of time.’
The bishop paused for a moment. ‘Do you know, I’ve taken more notice of the scientific community and interpreted Scripture through their point of view. I guess I haven’t done the same with the second coming for, as far as I know, they haven’t got an opinion about it yet, speculating about how long it would take to make a new world and a heaven and whatever’s out there.’
At this point they heard what appeared to be a deckchair collapsing and a somewhat cross, well known media atheist professor (you know who you are) was trying to regain his dignity mumbling what sounded like ‘The bloody Truth keeps getting in the way.’
The two bishops offered their assistance to reinstate the professor in his deckchair but he would have none of it!
‘Confusion is often a prelude to clarity.’
