Privacy and Cookies
This policy explains how Website Studio ("we", "us"), the operator of this website, uses your personal information. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at steve@websitestudio.co.uk or through our contact page.
What we collect and why
- Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply to you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
- Questions you send us: your question and, if you choose to give them, your name and email address. We may publish the question (never your name or email) with an answer. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering readers' questions.
- Newsletter and downloads: your email address, so we can send the newsletter or download you asked for. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Analytics and advertising: if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are popular, and our advertising partners may use cookies to show and measure adverts. These are only switched on with your consent.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and questions for up to two years, and newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, such as our web host and email provider and, with your consent, Google Analytics and our advertising partners.
Cookies and embedded content
We use a session cookie to keep forms secure. We only set analytics and advertising cookies if you accept them in the cookie banner. Videos are only loaded from YouTube when you press play, at which point YouTube's privacy policy applies. When you follow an affiliate link to another retailer, such as Amazon, that retailer may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, contact us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
